Why does the coffee come out in spurts and not a constant stream?

The brewing process depends on the beverage being brewed. If you are brewing a K-CupĀ® pod and have selected STRONG, the brew process is adjusted to optimize the beverage. This may result in a pulsating stream versus a constant stream for other beverages.
